Isolation and Quarantine -

Isolation :-

i) Patient tested positive for virus .

ii) Hospitals use the term isolation when they

place someone in a separate room.

iii) Doctor can control who has access to go see

them.

Quarantine :-

i) Patient not tested for virus unless showing

symptoms during quarantine

ii) May have come in contact with someone

with the virus

iii) Being placed at home in a living circumstance

Epidimic and Pandemic -

Epidemic :-

i) event in which a diesease is actively

spreading.

ii) Often used to describe a problem that has

grown out of control.

Pandemic :-

i) relates to geographic spread

ii) describes disease that affects the whole

country or the entire world
