160.0cm is more accurate than 160cm. So 160.0cm is more significant than 160cm. U can be read into 12class about this.

Measurements can be made into more accurate or precise by using appropriate instrument with proper scale.
Although 160cm and 160.0cm both readings looks equivalent but their scientific significance is different.
****************************************
-->160 cm means measurement is made by a scale which can read up to cm unit.
-->True value may lie between 159cm to 161 cm.
--->In 160cm , 1 and 6 are certain and zero is uncertain.
Therefore in 160cm has 3 significant numbers.

---> 160.0cm the measurement is made by instrument with scale that can read up to one tenth of cm (up to mm)
--> true value may lie between 1559.9 and 160.01cm.
In this case first three digits are certain and 4th digit is uncertain .
So 160.0cm has 4 significant digits in this figure.so scale used is more precise for measurement.
