The difference between endothermicand exothermic reactions lies in thewords themselves. "Thermic" refers to heat, just as in the word "thermometer." "Exo" means "outside" and "endo" means "inside." Thus, an endothermicreaction pulls heat into an object or area, while an exothermic reaction expels heat.
