What is the difference between a biography and a interview?

Biography is the life history of an individual, written by someone else These presents the view of, what happened in the past where the author lived.

Where as interview is a meeting at which somebody is asked questions to find out if he/she is suitable for a job, course of study, etc.

Following are the differences between biography and interview.

  • Among the numerous forms of biographical research in education, five types are often noted: scholarly chronicles, intellectual biography, life history writing, memoir biography, and narrative biography. These orientations may take the form of articles, vignettes, chapters, monographs, and full-length books.
  • Biography is a life story of person which is not necessarily written or told by the particular person. On the other hand, interview is conducted by an interviewer with the said person to know about the opinions.
  • The definition of biography is a story written about someone's life. An example of biography is a book about the story of President Obama's life. A person's life story, especially one published.
  • There are several types of the interview. Unstructured (Nondirective) Interview, Structured (Directive) Interview, Situational Interview, Behavioral Interview.
