Buckminsterfullerene does not exhibit "Superaromaticity ": that is, the electric in the hexagon ring do not delocalize over the whole molecule. A spherical fullerene of n carbon atoms has n pi- bonding electrons,C60 in the water tends to pick up two more electron and become an anion.
