In a linear function the degree of equation will be only 1 like f(x) = x + 3
and the graph plotted will be a straight line
In a non linear function the degree of the function will be greater than 1
for eg - f(x) = x^2 + 2x + 1 and so the graph plotted will not be a straight line but a curve instead with a turning points
