What is the difference between a media and a community? For example, we call facebook, instagram, twitter etc as social medias. and WtW, Prose etc as a community. What is the main difference? Please explain. This is for a school project, so inappropriate answers will be reported. Thank you.

An online social networking site simply makes our social networks visible to others who are not in our immediate network. So the single most important feature that distinguishes a social network from a community is how people are held together on these sites.
