What is the difference between a median and centroid of a triangle ? pls explain in detail ( with a drawn triangle )

Centroid is a point

Whereas median is a line segment.

A triangle belongs to these 2 things .

●In a triangle, a line segment, which joins a vertex & the mid point of opposite side, is called median. Total 3 medians are there in a triangle as any triangle has 3 vertices.

● In a triangle , all 3 medians pass

through the same point. That point of

concurrency is known as Centroid.

Then, one more point… Centroid divides each median segment in the ratio 2:1. Segment closer to vertex is double & segment closer to side is half.

IN THE GIVEN FIGURE,THE CENTRE RED POINT IS CENTROID AND THE POINTS M,N,P ARE MEDIAN.
