Meteor is a small celestial body while Meteorite is a big celestial body. it is so big that only a small part of it reaches earth. Ceres is the biggest meteorite discovered yet.

meteor is the small rock which comes from the space and burns completely before they enter the surface of the earth.
meteorite is comparatively bigger than meteor and do not burn completely before they enter the surface of the earth and creates huge craters and holes in the surface when they dash...the nature of the outer space can be learnt through meteorite....
