What is the difference between a Subdivision, Suburb and a satellite city? ... A subdivision is basically a neighborhood that lies outside a city. It may be a planned community or such. It usually has no sense of being a separate town

Satellite cities are smaller cities that are near to a large city that is the center of a metropolitan area. They are different from suburbs, subdivisions and bedroom communities because they have their own centre.
