a real image can be captured on a screen and the image is always inverted

a virtual image cannot be captured on a screen and the image is always erect

Differences :


⇒ A real image is formed due to actual intersection of the light rays.

⇒ A virtual image is formed when the light ray is produced backwards and not actually meeting.

⇒ A virtual image is always erect.
