In direct current (DC), the electric charge (current) only flows in one direction. Electric charge in alternating current (AC), on the other hand, changes direction periodically. The voltage in AC circuits also periodically reverses because the current changes direction.

1) the magnitude of DC is constant and flows in One Direction only by the magnetic of AC changes with time and directions of AC reverses periodically .
2) DC cannot be used for large-scale supply of electricity for household purpose but AC is used to run electrical appliances like electric bulb, electric heat or refrigerator etc
