They are all basically just accelerations, with the difference of directions. If the acceleration is along the direction of motion, it is calledacceleration. If the acceleration is opposite to the direction of motion, it is called deceleration/retardation. All are basically the same…

accleration is always positive bur retradation is alwas negative
