Aerobic respiration occurs in the presence of oxygen or air.
Anaerobic respiration occurs in the absence of oxygen or air.

Aerobic respiration occurs in the presence of oxygen. Eg:Normal respiration of body(Breakdown of food and release of energy)
Anaerobic respiration occurs in absence of oxygen. Eg:During extra exercise fatigue occurs in muscles and it starts paining,there anaerobic respiration takes place.
