What is the difference between an AM and GM in sequences and series

AM = Arithmetic mean

GM = Geometric mean

AM general formula:

AM= (1+2+3+.......+n)÷n

where 1, 2, 3,..... represents term number.

GM general formula:

GM= 2ab÷ (a+b)
