Consecutive multiples mean nx , (n+1)x

for example: 2(17) and 3(17) i.e 34 and 51 are consecutive multiples of 17

A - Consecutive multiples ⇒ (n)17 and (n+1)17

                                           ⇒ 17n and 17n + 17

Given that the sum of two consecutive multiples of 17 is 85

17n + 17 n + 17 = 85

34n + 17 = 85

34n = 68

n = 2

∴ the numbers are : 17(2) and 17(2+1)

i.e 34 and 51
