Area is the product of length and breadth .

FOR EXAMPLE - the area of a rectangle of side 5m and 4m is 5×4m square = 20 m sq.

Whereas perimeter is the sum of all side of a given figure .

FOR EXAMPLE - The perimetre of a rectangle of side 4m and 5m is 5m+5m +4m+4m = 18m.

The formula for area is length into breadth

whereas the formula for perimeter is 2(length + breadth).
