What is the difference between Astronomy and Astrophysics?

Astronomy is the science of measuring the positions and charecteristics of heavenly bodies.Astrophysics is application of physics to understand astronomy.

Astronomy is a branch of science which deals with the study of moon, stars and other celestial bodies, whereas astrophysics is a branch of astronomy which deals with the physical study of moon, stars and other celestial bodies.
