what is the difference between blue green algae and the prokaryotic bacteria

Cyanobacteria is also known as blue-green algae. They differ from otherbacteria in that cyanobacteria possess chlorophyll-a, while most bacteria do not contain chlorophyll. Chlorophyll-a gives them their characteristic blue-green color.
