If a “Force” is applied on a unit area then it is called “Stress”. ... Whereas, stress is an internal quantity. It is the resistance that the object will offer to this force, resisting any change in its shape/deformation. The maximum stress a material can withstand before it breaks is called the Breaking Stress.
