Chickens raised for eggs are usually called layers while chickens raised for meat are often called broilers. Otherway, An egg laying poultry is sometimes called a egger or a layer whereas broilers are reared for obtaining meat. ... On the other hand, a broiler should yield more meat and hence should be able to grow well.
