They are bounded by the Aravali mountains, Vindhya range, Malwa and Chotanagpur Plateau. They are bounded the Eastern ghats and the western ghats. The Chota Nagpur Plateau mark its eastwards extension

1. It is situated above the narmada river

2. It is bounded by aravali hills, vindhya range, malva plateau, and chota nagpur

Deccan plateau :

1. It is situated below narmada river

2. It is bounded by the eastern ghats and western ghats, nilgiri hills

3. It is made up of basalt.
