What is the difference between channel coding and line coding?

Channel coding(error coding) comes next. Its purpose is to insert redundancy in the data, so that errors can be detected and corrected on reception.

Line coding(Baseband modulation) comes next. This is done to give a real physical representation to the information. You decide what voltages and currents are acceptable to transmit the information over a physical channel.
