Answer:

1)In charging of friction- body can be charged by transfer of electron i.e by rubbing the body with each other.

2)In charging by conduction -body can be charged by physical contact of both the body i.e by touching

3) Both insulator and conductors can be used in charging by friction but only conductors could be used in charging by conduction .

The difference between charging by friction and charging using conduction:

  • Friction is caused by the rubbing of two surfaces against each other as the irregularities on the surfaces interlock on a microscopic level.
  • So, charging by friction refers to the transfer of electrons from one body to another while we rub them against each other.

  • Conduction refers to the transfer using contact. For example in heat transfer by conduction, we touch two bodies of different temperatures and the heat from one body travels from the hotter to the cooler one.
  • Similarly, charging by conduction refers to the transfer of charge by touching two bodies. And the electrons from the more charged body flow from the touching end of the less charged object to the other end.

This is the major difference between charging a body by friction and that conduction.
