When there is a physical contact between the two bodies exerting force, it is known as contact force whereas when there is no physical contact between the two bodies exerting force, it is known as non-contact force. Lifting a bag is a contact force as there is a contact between our hands and the bag. Magnetic force is a non-contact force.
