What is the difference between continuous and continuing?

Continuous is an adjective. You would describe perhaps a class as feeling continuous. Continuing is a verb. "Continuing on with today's lesson" is one example. Continued means uninterrupted. A great example is "to be continued" which you hear at the end of episodes of something like a TV show or movie.
