cork cambium- due to secondary growth in steler region cell of cortex regain the power of division and forms a new layer known as the cork cambium.
cork cambium forms secondary cortex (phelloderm) at the inner side and cork on outside.
on the other hand epidermis is the outermost layer before the redifferentiation and is parenchymatous and provides protection
