Square root

Take for example the number 5. If you multiply this twice. i.e. 5 x 5 = 25.

25 is called the square of 5, and 5 is called the square root of 25.

Similarly, 8 x 8 = 64. So, 64 is called the square of 8, and 8 is called the square root of 64.

Cube root

Take the number 7. If you multiply this thrice. i.e., 7 x 7 x 7 = 343.

343 is called the cube of 7, and 7 is called the cube root of 343.

Similarly, 9 x 9 x 9 = 729. So, 729 is called the cube of 9, and 9 is called the cube root of 729.
