if the probability of an event not affected by another event then they are said to be independent
for example :
a) probability to get a no. less than 3 on throwing a dice
b) probability to get a no. greater than 3 on throwing a dice
for independent event
p(a intersection b)= p(a).p(b)
thus a and b are independent
and if probability is affected than events are dependent
a) probability to get a no . less than 3 on throwing a die
b) probability to get multiple of 2 on throwing a dice
for example :
a) probability to get a no. less than 3 on throwing a dice
b) probability to get a no. greater than 3 on throwing a dice
for independent event
p(a intersection b)= p(a).p(b)
thus a and b are independent
