Development is a very complex term. Different persons have different development goals. For example, for a landless rural labourer, more days of work and better wages is a development goal. Whereas, for a Prosperous farmer, high income through higher support prices may be a development goal.
In some cases, development goal for one might be productive and for other it may be destructive and here the idea of development becomes conflictive.For example, for better production industrialist want more electricity and for that they demand more number of dams. On the other hand, the construction of dams leads to displacement of people near the river or even submergence of land
