Difference between diplotene and diakinesis:
Diplotene:
- In the diplotene stage, the chiasmata form between the chromatids of the homologous chromosomes started to separate each other and the crossing over between the chromatids happens.
- The chromosomes started to repel each other and go longitudinally and form the loop structure.
Diakinesis:
- This is the last phase of the first meiotic prophase.
- In this stage, the chiasmata and nucleolus became disappear and the nuclear membrane disappeared and spindle fiber started to form the dyads.
