Direct personal investigation is where a detective decides to carry out the investigation  by himself, he participates fully in collection of data and he physically attends to the field and takes the information along with him. He records and stores the information by himself unlike indirect oral investigation is where a detective looks for a client to carry out the investigation on his behalf.
