Displacement Reaction:type of reaction where two reactants exchange ions to form to new compounds

example: BaCl2 + Na2SO4 ----> BaSO4 + NaCl

Displacement reaction: Type of reaction in which highly reactive element displaces less reactive element to form a new compound..

Example: 2HCl + Zn -------> ZnCl2 + H2
