What is the difference between displacement and double displacement reaction?
Write equations for these reactions?
Answers
DISPLACEMENT REACTION:- Reactions in which more reactive element displaces or remove the less reactive element to form the product is called displacement reaction.
Example:-CuSo4 + Zn ------- ZnSo4 + cuDOUBLE- DISPLACEMENT REACTION:- Reactions in which there are exchange of irons between the reactants are called double displacement reactions. Example:- Na2 SO4 +Bacl2 --------- BaSo4 + 2Nacl

◾◾here is your answer...
✒DEFINITION OF DISPLACEMENT REACTION::--
In a displacement reaction, a more reactive element replaces a less reactive element from a compound.
i.e. A + BX. -----> AX + B
where A is more reactive than B
Example :-
CuSO4 + Zn --> ZnSO4 + Cu
✒DEFINITION OF DISPLACEMENT REACTION::--
In a double displacement reaction, two atoms or a group of atoms change places to form new compounds.
i.e. AB + CD ---> AC + BD
Example:--
Na2SO4 + BaCl ---> NaSO4 + 2NaCl
