When a higly reactive element displaces a less reactive element , it is said to be a displacement reaction .

Example : 1) Zn + CuSO4 = ZnSO4 + Cu

Double Displacement reaction :

Two compound when reacts it forms two different compounds with mutual exchange of ions .

Example : 1) Na2SO4 + BaCl2 = BaSO4 + 2NaCl
