Displacement reaction:
1.In displacement reaction, one element from its salt is displaced by a more reactive element.
2. AB+C--------CB+A.
3. CuSO4+Zn-------ZnSO4+Cu.

Double displacement reaction:
1.exchange of ions takes place between two reactants to form new products.
2. AB+CD------BC+AD
3.AgNO3+NaCl-----AgCl+NaNO3

Hope it helps....

Displacement reaction is a reaction in which a free element displaces another element in a reaction, leaving the other element free on the product side.

e.g. Fe + CuSO4⇒ FeSO4 + Cu
       Pb + CuCl2⇒ PbCl2 + Cu

Double Displacement reaction is a reaction in which both the elements replace the remaining elements of the two compounds.
AB + CD⇒ AD + CB
The radical at the last, i.e., B&D in the above reaction remain at the last. Just the first elements displace each other.

e.g. AgNO3 + NaCl⇒ AgCl + NaNO3
       CuSO4 + H2S ⇒ CuS + H2SO4
