● Distance is a scalar quantity and displacement is a vector quantity.Displacement is measured with reference to a specific point.

● It is a straight line from the starting point (origin) to the end point. It is therefore also the shortest distance between two points.

Differance :-

Distance :-

  1. Actual distance b/w the two points
  2. It can't be negative.
  3. It don't depends on direction

Displacement :-

  1. Minimum distance b/w two points
  2. It can be negative
  3. It depends on direction.

Hope its helpful
