what is the difference between distance travelled by a body and its displacement explain with the help of a diagram

distance means actual distance covered by a body for e.g. if u goes from home to school which is 1km and came back from school to home then the distance travelled is 2km
BUT
displacement is what shortest distance travelled by object from above e.g. displacement is 0 .
for e.g. in triangle hyp Is shortest distance between twoon other side of triangle
