What is the difference between Dot product and Cross Product in Vector Multiplication?

dot product gives a scalar quantity in the answer whereas vector or cross product gives a vector quantity in answer which have direction ....

Sarveshabhatgare: Dot product only gives magnitude of the answer it does not have direction therefore it can be applied to any dimension.....but the cross product is mainly used in 3d dimensions
