◆ Elements are made up of one kind of atoms but molecules of compounds are made up of atoms of two or more different elements.

◆ Elements cannot be broken down into simpler substances by simple physical or chemical methods but molecules of compounds can be broken down into simpler substances by chemical methods.

◆' H ' is an element but 'H2O' is a molecule of the compound water.

◆ Atoms of elements are highly reavtive but molecules of compounds are less reactive.
