Answer:

There are various differences between the exocrine and endocrine glands....

First, let me tell you what a gland is.

A gland is a structure which produces and releases substances that perform a specific function In the body, there are 30 glands in the body.

Explanation:

what are Exocrine Glands?

Structures which release their products through ducts/ channels. Example: sweat gland, salivary gland.

A tube like structure in the gland is called a duct.

Differences:

1. Ducted gland

2. Doesn’t produces hormone.

3. Release in large amounts.

What are Endocrine Glands?

Found inside the body, bag like structures that releases certain chemical messengers called HORMONES, directly to the bloodstream to cause a response in a specific target organ or group of cells, they don’t react in the place they are secreted, instead they go through the blood stream to a target organ or group of cells.

Eg: adrenal gland- Above kidney, pituitary gland- base of brain, pancreas – below stomach, Ovaries(female)/testes(male)-below abdomen region, thyroid gland- neck .

Differences: 1. Ductless gland 2. Produces hormones

3. Releases in small amounts.
