what is the difference between evaporation and boiling

Evaporation takes place all over the surface of the conatainer. While,Boling takes place only at the bottom of the container! Hope it will help you.

Evaporation- 1) it is a surface phenomenon. 2) it does not require any external heat.    3) it causes cooling effect. 4) it occurs at any temperature below the boiling point.   Boiling-1) it is a bulk phenomenon. 2) it requires an external heat medium. 3) it does not cause cooling. 4) it occurs at a specific temperature.
