Evaporation is when a liquid turns into a gas, while sublimation is when a solid turns into a gas. Both involve absorbing energy to break apart the bonds of the substance.

when a small fraction of particles at the surface get converted into vapour. The process of changing a matter from liquid state to gaseous state or vapour at any temperature below it's boiling point is known as evaporation.

The rate of evaporation depends on the surface area of the liquid wind speed, humidity and temperature.

For example conversion of water into water vapour.

when the state of a matter directly changes from solid to gas without changing into liquid state, this phenomena is called sublimation.

For example on burning, the camphor turns into gaseous form directly from solid form.
