Ex ante investment refers to a predicted or planned investment. It signifies something that will happen in the future. For example economists predict or plan for a certain amount of money getting into the economy through household investments or savings.
Conversely, Ex post investment on the other hand refers to actual investment. It signifies what happened. For example economist invest with the actual amounts within the economy at that moment rather than using future amounts.
