what is the difference between exothermic and endothermic reaction? Does exothermic reaction makes the surroundings hotter or the solution itself?

Exothermic reaction is the one in which heat is released to the outside making its surroundings hotter.

Endothermic reaction is the one in which heat is absorbed making its surroundings cooler.

Exothermic reaction proceeds with the liberation of heat thus making the surroundings hot on the other hand endothermic reactions proceed with the absorption of heat hence making the surrounding cool
