Difference between flood and drought:
FLOOD:
- Excess of water defines flood.
- When the level of water flow surpasses the normal limit especially due to heavy rainfall, it’s called flood.
- Flood can affect for few weeks and can be recovered with the support of government.
DROUGHT:
- Shortage of water defines drought.
- When there is 'no rainfall' for quite a 'long period of time' and leads to scarcity of water, it’s called drought.
- Drought can affect for a much longer period of time i.e. months or years.
