The difference between gaseous and particulate pollutants-

1. At normal temperature, the gaseous pollutants are present or occur in the form of gas. Whereas, the particulate pollutants are those which do not occur in any kind of gaseous form.

2. Sulphur oxides, Carbon dioxide are some of the gaseous pollutants. On the other hand, smoke, fly ash, dust particles, fumes, etc are the examples of particulate pollutants.

3. The gaseous pollutants can be controlled by combustion and through absorption by solids and liquids. Whereas the particulate pollutants can be controlled by scrubbers, fabric filters, cyclone separators, etc.

These are some of the differences between the two pollutants-gaseous and particulate.
