The increase in the earth's temperature due to the release of high amount of carbon dioxide and other green house gases into the atmosphere is called global warming.

The pollutants like oxides of sulphur and oxides of nitrogen react with water vapour to form acids like sulphuric acid and nitric acid which mixes with rain to form acid rain.
