h2o means 1 molecule of water with 2 hydrogen atom and one oxygen atom and 3h2o means 3 molecules of water.

H2O means there is 1 molecule of water which contains 2atoms of hydrogen and 1 atom of oxygen....while

3H2O means there are 3 molecules of water i.e.there are 6 atoms of hydrogen and 3 atoms of oxygen....
