Answer:

We can use ‘Had’, ‘Has’ and ‘Have’ in three different ways. Sometime we confuse using it. We also see it two times in a single sentence as ‘Had have’ or ‘Has Have’ etc. You can differentiate it where and when it is used. Here, I show some way to differentiate it.

AS A MAIN VERB:

If you own something like a book you can say it like-

I have a book.

Here ‘Have’ is a head (main) verb. With singular we use ‘Has’ instead of ‘Have’ in present tense. If your brother John own a book then you can write it like-

John has a book.

In present tense use ‘Has’ with singular and ‘Have’ with plural. And in past tense use ‘Had’ instead of ‘Has’ and ‘Have’ either it is singular or plural. See some example-

Ekanika Shah has a nice car. (Singular)(Present Tense)

Cow has four legs. (Singular)(Present Tense)

They have a super computer. (Plural)

I had a computer with XP professional OS. (Plural)(Past Tense)

Ekanika Shah had a doll when she was a child. (Singular)(Past Tense)

AS A HELPING (AUXILIARY) VERB:

In perfect tense we can use ‘Has’, ‘Have’ and ‘Had’ as a helping verb. With singular in present tense use ‘Has’. With plural use ‘Have’ in present tense. And ‘Had’ in past tense either it would singular or plural. See some examples-

Ekanika has done her homework. (Singular)(Present Tense)

I have written this type of question earlier. (Plural)(Present Tense)

My father had been living in Varanasi since birth.(Singular)(Past Tense)

AS A MODAL VERB:

‘Has to’, ‘Have to’ and ‘Had to’ is used for the necessary works or someone is forced to do some work we use it as modal verbs. See some examples-

I don’t want but I have to write this answer. (Plural)(Present Tense)

She has to do that job. (Singular)(Present Tense)

Mohan had to come Mumbai because he had no job in his city. (Singular)(Past Tense)

There are some more way to use ‘Has’, ‘Have’ and ‘Had’ accordingly as ‘Has got’, ‘Have got’ and ‘Had got’ etc. but the information I have given above would be sufficient and in best of my knowledge.
